Welcome to the 2nd International Congress of Family Health Nursing & 1st Family Health
Iberian Congress.
It is promoted by the Portuguese Society of Family Health Nursing (SPESF), which takes place in
Lisbon, between 16th and 18th October 2019.

The Portuguese Society of Family Health Nursing intends to contribute to the dissemination of
scientific knowledge produced in the area of Family Health, to stimulate research and
professional development in family health nursing, in the promotion of excellence in Family
Health.

Message of the President

Welcome to the 2nd International Congress of Family Health Nursing & 1st Iberian Congress of Family Health, sponsored by the Portuguese Society of Family Health Nursing (SPESF), which takes place in Lisbon, between 16 and 18 October 2019.

With this event SPESF intends to contribute to the dissemination of evidence in Family Health Nursing in particular, and Family Health in general, at national, Iberian and worldwide levels, as well as to contribute to make the history of Family Health Nursing increasingly collective, integrative, broader and more participative.

In the organization, we have the partnership of Associación de Enfermería Comunitária, Associación Galega de Enfermería Familiar e Comunitária and the Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa.

As scientific partners, we have several Nursing Higher Education Institutions and related areas, Research Centres, the High Commissioner for Migration, the Lusophone Network for the Promotion of Health Literacy, among other national and international institutions.

We invite you to participate in the various conferences, debates, workshops, seminars, free communications, among other moments of sharing research and good practices that transform the care of families and citizens.

Abstracts

Regulations for Submission of Oral Communications and Posters

The authors may submit abstracts in the form of oral communication or poster for the 2nd International Congress of Family and Health Nursing & 1st Iberian Congress of Family Health, until September 30, through the online submission form, available here.

Abstracts Submission

You can now submit your abstract in the form of Oral Communication or Poster. Before submitting please read carefully the Submission Rules.

  1. Requirements.
  • the communications submitted must be original;
  • The author (s) may submit more than one abstract;
  • The same author may only submit up to two communications, cumulatively, in the form of oral communication or poster;
  • Each abstract may have up to six co-authors;
  • The author (s) must indicate the type of preferred presentation (the Scientific Committee will decide on the most appropriate type of communication);
  • Abstracts should not include figures, graphs or tables;
  • The submission of oral or poster communication proposal may be in Portuguese, Spanish or English;
  • The author who makes the presentation of the communication (oral or poster) must mandatorily sign up until October 1, 2019;
  • The content of the abstract to be published in the e-book of the Portuguese Society of Family Health Nursing is the sole responsibility of the authors.
  1. Abstract

The abstracts may be submitted in the form of oral communications or posters.

The topics to be submitted should preferably fall within the scope of Family Health Nursing and have a maximum of 350 WORDS (excluding bibliographic references). Abstracts should be written in Times New Roman, size 11, line spacing 1.5.

2.1 Abstract structure (in Portuguese, Spanish or English):

  • Authors [Name and Surname; Name and Surname…];
  • Affiliation [Institution + Professional Category];
  •  Email contact (s);
  • Identification of the author presenting the communication;
  • Text organization:
  • Title;
  • Introduction;
  • Goals;
  • Methodology (participants, instruments and procedures);
  • Results and discussion;
  • Final Considerations or Conclusions;
  • Keywords in Portuguese and English: maximum of four keywords, separated by semicolons;
  • Bibliographic references according to APA standards (up to a maximum of 5 references).
  1. Presentation of oral communications or posters.
  • The final presentation should be sent until October 11, 2019 by email: comunicacoesCINESF@spesf.pt;
  • The file name should be the full title of the communication;
  • A certificate will be given for each presentation, stating the names of all authors.

3.1 Presentation of oral communications.

  • The file will necessarily be produced in standard format provided by e-mail to authors and elaborated in Microsoft PowerPoint® program;
  • • The time for the presentation of oral communication should be a maximum of 10 minutes.

3.2 Poster Presentation

  • Posters will be displayed on paper;
  • Posters must have a maximum size of 1.20 × 0.80 meters and the text must be visible at 1.5 meters;
  • Posters should be designed on a white background to allow a good view of their content;
  • On the day of the presentation, the author responsible for the presentation must be available at the place and time previously indicated;
  • The time for the presentation of the poster presentation should be no more than 5 minutes.
  1. Publication of Congress results in eBook
  • All communications (posters and Oral Communications) may be published in e-book associated with the event with assigned ISBN;
  • Abstracts upon submission must be prepared for publication in the e-book;
  • It is up to the scientific committee to evaluate the quality of the abstract submitted for publication in the e-book;
  • • The informational content of abstracts is the sole responsibility of their authors.
  1. Publication of Congress results in journal

All authors will be able to submit the articles related to the work (s) presented for publication in Revista Pensar Enfermagem.

  1. Awards.

During the 2nd International Congress on Family Health Nursing & 1st Iberian Congress on Family Health, the Organizing Committee will award prizes for “Best Oral Communication” and “Best Poster”.

The deliberation on cases not mentioned in this Regulation is the responsibility of the Scientific Committee.

Just 1 day- $40 per day

Payment must be made within 10 days of registration, otherwise your registration will not be validated. Scan and send the proof by e-mail (enrollmentCINESF@spesf.pt), referring to the name indicated on the registration form. In case of group registration, proof of payment of all elements, with the names of the individual registration forms, must be sent in an e-mail.

Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa – ESEL

Pole Caloust Goulbenkian

The Calouste Gulbenkian School of Nursing, Lisbon, originated in 1957 with the designation of School of Nursing of the Santa Maria Hospital, created at the opening of the Lisbon Universitary Hospital, now Santa Maria Hospital. In 1968, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation funded the construction and equipment of the Calouste Gulbenkian School of Nursing in Lisbon and the Students Residence, which was inaugurated in 1972. It pioneered student association in Nursing and its 50 years of existence, devoted to quality initial training and graduated about 5000 nurses.

It is located in university campus next to Santa Maria Hospital, at Avenida Professor Egas Moniz, 1600-190 Lisboa.
